1. Who is responsible
Handball Tracker is currently operated as an independent beta service in Norway. The operator is the data controller for account and service-administration data. Clubs and coaches normally decide why and how player data is entered and are therefore the controller for that data; Handball Tracker acts as their processor. The operator’s full legal identity and service address will be added before commercial launch. Until then, privacy requests can be sent to handballstats.support@gmail.com.
2. Who may use the service
Accounts are for coaches, club staff and other authorised adults aged 18 or over. Players do not create accounts. Coaches must follow their club’s instructions and have a valid legal basis before entering player information, especially for children.
3. Data we process and where it comes from
- Account email, private Coach ID, authentication identifier and login information supplied by the account holder or identity provider.
- Club, team, age category, birth year, country and gender supplied by the coach.
- Player name, shirt number and match statistics supplied by the coach or club.
- Opponent, score, events, phases, shot zones, timestamps and match settings.
- Necessary browser storage used for sessions, preferences, offline operation and synchronisation.
4. Purposes and legal bases
Account data is processed to provide the requested service, secure access, synchronisation, support and account management (performance of the user agreement), and to protect the service and meet legal duties (legitimate interests and legal obligations). Player and club data is processed only on the club or coach’s documented instructions under the Club Data Processing Agreement. Optional product emails are sent only when separately requested and consent can be withdrawn at any time.
5. Guest mode
Guest data stays in the browser on that device unless the user exports or shares it. Clearing browser storage may permanently remove it. Handball Tracker cannot recover guest data.
6. Optional anonymous team benchmarks
A coach may choose, team by team, to contribute to Handball Tracker’ internal coaching research. This is optional and requires the coach to confirm that the club or organisation authorises it. When enabled, we use only aggregate match metrics and team context such as birth year, gender and country. The purpose is to develop useful coaching benchmarks — for example shooting efficiency, goalkeeper saves, discipline and match trends for comparable groups — rather than to rank individual teams. We exclude names, shirt numbers, account details and club identity, and do not publish or share individual-team data. Benchmarks are only considered once a group has at least 10 teams and 50 matches. The setting can be withdrawn at any time for future contributions.
7. Service providers and international transfers
We use Supabase for authentication and database services; the project database is hosted in West EU (Ireland). We use OpenAI Sites with its hosting infrastructure for delivery of the website. These providers process only what is needed to supply their service. Some support or technical processing may occur outside the EEA under the provider’s applicable transfer safeguards. The operator will retain the current processor terms and transfer documentation before commercial launch.
8. Retention
Account, team and match data remains until the user deletes it or asks us to do so. Deleted account data is removed from the active database; limited security, backup or legal records may remain temporarily where required. Support correspondence is normally deleted within 12 months after the case closes. Optional marketing consent records are retained until withdrawal and as needed to demonstrate compliance. These periods will be reviewed before commercial launch.
9. Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or portability, and withdraw consent without affecting earlier processing. Use “Download My Data” for an account export or contact support. We normally respond within one month. You may complain to Datatilsynet.
10. Children and player information
The service is not directed to children and does not request photos, identity documents, player contact details or precise location. A name, shirt number and performance statistics are still personal data. Coaches should use the minimum necessary data, consider initials or an internal identifier, inform players and families, and remove data when it is no longer needed.
11. Security, automated decisions and sharing
Account records are separated by user access controls and transmitted over encrypted connections. We do not sell personal data, use behavioural advertising or make automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects. Users control any spreadsheet they export or share.
12. Changes and contact
Material changes will be shown in the service and may require renewed acceptance. Contact handballstats.support@gmail.com and do not send passwords or player statistics by email.

2. Brukere og opplysninger
Kontoer er for trenere, klubbansatte og andre autoriserte voksne over 18 år. Spillere oppretter ikke konto. Vi behandler e-post og innloggingsdata, lag- og klubbdata, spillernavn og draktnummer, samt kampresultater, hendelser, faser, soner og tidspunkt. Opplysningene kommer fra kontoinnehaveren, identitetsleverandøren eller treneren/klubben. Dette kan også omfatte fødselsår og lagets land.
3. Formål og behandlingsgrunnlag
Kontodata brukes for å levere avtalt tjeneste, sikker innlogging, synkronisering, støtte og administrasjon, samt ivareta sikkerhet og lovkrav. Spillerdata behandles bare etter dokumenterte instrukser fra klubb/trener under databehandleravtalen. Produktnyheter krever et eget, frivillig samtykke.
4. Frivillig anonym benchmarking
Treneren kan frivillig aktivere bidrag fra hvert enkelt lag til intern analyse av trender i Handball Tracker. Treneren bekrefter da at klubben eller organisasjonen har godkjent bidraget. Vi bruker bare aggregerte kampmålinger og lagkontekst som fødselsår, kjønn og land. Formålet er å utvikle nyttige trenerbenchmarker — for eksempel skuddeffektivitet, målvaktredninger, disiplin og kamptrender for sammenlignbare grupper — ikke å rangere enkeltlag. Navn, draktnummer, kontoopplysninger og klubbidentitet brukes ikke. Data deles ikke eller publiseres på lagnivå. Benchmarker vurderes først når en gruppe har minst 10 lag og 50 kamper, og bidraget kan slås av når som helst for fremtidige kamper.
5. Lokal lagring, leverandører og overføringer
Gjestedata lagres bare lokalt i nettleseren. Nødvendig lokal lagring brukes til økter, innstillinger, frakoblet bruk og synkronisering. Vi bruker Supabase og OpenAI Sites med tilhørende hosting. Supabase-databasen er plassert i Vest-EU (Irland). Enkelte støtte- eller tekniske behandlinger kan skje utenfor EØS etter leverandørens overføringsgrunnlag. Gjeldende databehandleravtaler og overføringsdokumentasjon skal arkiveres før kommersiell lansering.
6. Lagringstid og rettigheter
Konto-, lag- og kampdata lagres til kontoen eller dataene slettes. Henvendelser til kundestøtte slettes normalt innen 12 måneder etter avsluttet sak. Du kan be om innsyn, retting, sletting, begrensning, protest eller dataportabilitet og trekke samtykke. Vi svarer normalt innen én måned. Du kan klage til Datatilsynet.
7. Barn, sikkerhet og kontakt
Selv uten bilder eller kontaktopplysninger er navn, nummer og prestasjonsdata personopplysninger. Bruk minst mulig informasjon, informer spillere/foresatte og slett data som ikke lenger trengs. Vi selger ikke data, viser ikke atferdsbasert reklame og tar ikke automatiserte avgjørelser med vesentlig virkning. Kontakt handballstats.support@gmail.com.
